CONRADO “DING” LADINES ORANTE January 22, 1938 – April 28, 2011 Conrado “Ding” Ladines Orante, 73, of American Canyon, California passed away on Thursday, April 28, 2011, in Vallejo, California. He was born in Baguio City, Philippines to Ciriaco and Emerita Orante. He was the eldest of 8 children. Ding played basketball and excelled in track in college. He earned his business and law degrees from Baguio Colleges Foundation. He worked as an accountant in Okinawa, Laos & Iran. He opened a book store in Laoag, Philippines then took over and ran the family business.His family emigrated to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1985. He worked as an insurance representative for John Hancock Life Insurance. He retired from the California Department of Motor Vehicles where he was a driving examiner. He was past president of the Baguio Californians, Inc. of Northern California Chapter and a past Faithful Navigator and Grand Knight of the Vallejo Assembly of the Knights of Columbus. In retirement, he enjoyed travels with his family and siblings. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren. Surviving members of his family include his wife Leticia “Letty” Orante, daughters Marie Noel (nee Orante) Rulloda and husband Orland Rulloda, Christine (nee Orante) Knopp and husband Steven Knopp, sons ConradoOrante Jr. and wife Jonah (nee Julit) Orante, Newin Paul Orante and wife Ann-Jeanette (nee Parrocha) Orante; grandchildren Malaya Ann Orante, Emma Isabel Rulloda, Jacob Wayne Knopp, Kaya Angelina Orante, Lori MarielleRulloda, and JC Marie Orante. He also leaves behind his siblings and in-laws, Conchita (nee Orante) and Baldomero Ventura, Cecilia (nee Orante) and MarcelinoErgino Sr., Crisostomo and CorazonOrante, Cesar and GloriaOrante, Connie (nee Orante) and BramieBersamira, Carmelita (nee Orante) and RamonMisal, and Carolina (nee Orante) DonaldValmonte Sr. Visitation will be held 1-9 p.m. Tuesday, May 3rd with the Rosary at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Twin Chapels Mortuary, 1100 Tennessee St., Vallejo. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday , May 4th at St. Vincent’s Catholic Church, 925 Sacramento St., Vallejo.
