Dan Lee Hansen

It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Dan Lee Hansen on November 1, 2023. Born on March 14, 1958, in New London, Connecticut, to parents Vernon and Iona Hansen, Dan's early life was shaped by the experiences of a Navy family, residing in both Florida and Japan. Following his father's retirement from the Navy, the family settled in Vallejo, California, where Dan attended Pennycook Elementary School, Springstowne Jr. High, and graduated from Hogan Sr. High in June 1976. A proud Eagle Scout, Dan embarked on a career as a journeyman carpenter, completing his apprenticeship in 1980 and began building homes in the area. In 1983, he married Judy Mathews (Acha), and together they raised two sons, Jacob and Jered. Later, Dan pursued further education, earning a degree in project management, and worked enthusiastically for a number of bay area builders assuming the title of Superintendent and Vice President of Construction before retiring in 2016. In 2005, Dan purchased his dream home and moved to Rocklin, CA where he became an integral part of the community at Bayside Church. A devout Christian, Dan passionately shared the gospel with everyone he encountered, dedicating his time to volunteering with the church production team, special events and participating in his Bible study group. He enjoyed life to the fullest pursuing numerous projects around his house to keep him busy. Dan loved spending time with his grandchildren and was always up for a game of golf with local friends in his community. Preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Iona, and his nephew Ryan Rossknecht, Dan is survived by his sons, Jacob (Cristian) and Jered (Kelly) Hansen, his sisters, Lisa Hansen and Amy (Dan) Rossknecht, grandchildren Dominic (16), Kolbie (5), and Kooper (3) Hansen, niece Katie Rossknecht, nephew Rick (Jenna) Rossknecht, and great-nephews Lucas (8) and Logan (6) Rossknecht. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that you consider making a donation to Bayside Church (Adventure Campus) in honor of Dan Lee Hansen's two decades of service. A celebration of life will be held at Bayside Church (Adventure Campus) located at: 6401 Stanford Ranch Rd, Roseville, CA 95678 on January 6, 2024 at 11:00 am. Reception to follow.
