PATRICIA ANN NUSS January 28, 1957 – September 14, 2022 Patricia Ann Nuss, 65, passed away Wednesday, September 14, at her home in Crockett surrounded by family, following a long battle with cancer. It is with a heavy heart that we have lost a very treasured friend. We rejoice that Patty is no longer suffering from her battle with cancer and is finally whole again, resting in the arms of her heavenly father. Yet those of us here on this side of heaven mourn a great loss of an exceptional woman. Patty was one of the strongest champions that we've ever known. Cancer worked hard for 6 long years to try and destroy every part of her body. Yet as hard as cancer fought, Patty proved she could fight even harder! She stood back up every time she got knocked down. Sadly, her body had had enough and we had to say our goodbyes. Patty was born to William H. and Caroline (Castagnetti) Paschall in Vallejo, CA, on January 28, 1957, and was a life-long resident of the Rodeo and Crockett areas. She worked as a Senior Housing Assistant for the Contra Costa County Housing Authority for 26 years, retiring in 2019. She was a devoted Christian woman who gave of herself tirelessly to her church and to her family. Patty was a phenomenal chef and loved making full, hearty meals for big groups of people. One could always find her in the kitchen cool, calm, and collected with a big smile on her face, happy as a lark to be serving the people she loved. And loving is exactly who she was. She was caring and kind and if you had the privilege to be loved by her, you knew it. Her warmth, her wisdom, and her joy will be greatly missed. Patty was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Ronald William Paschall. She is survived by her two brothers, John and Mike Paschall and their wives Valerie and Melissa,her sister-in-law Sherrie Paschall as well as many nieces and nephews and extended family. Patty cared for her Mother, Caroline Paschall, who also battled disease for many long years until she lost her just one month ago. Patty also leaves behind the love of her life, Tom. Patty adored her husband and their love story is one for fairy tale books. They celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary this year. Tom and Patty had no children but they did love their cats who were truly their fur babies! A Celebration Of Life Memorial Service will be held and announced by the family at a later date.
