ALFRED C. OWENS JR. APRIL 3, 1947 – JULY 13, 2016 Alfred C. “Pop” Owens Jr., 69, of Vallejo passed away in a local hospital following a long illness. A native of Richmond, CA, he was a resident of Vallejo for 34 years. Pop was a retired 30 year veteran Sergeant 1st Class of the United States Army and also worked for 36 years as a Customer Service Supervisor for the United States Postal Service retiring in 2004. He was a member of the VFW and was a world class television watcher and occasional fisherman. Pop was preceded by his parents, Alfred C. Owens Sr. and Ruth Owens; brothers, Stephen and Larry Owens; and his son, Philip Owens. Survivors include his wife of 16 years Micca Owens; daughters, Twwana (Jeff) Kopp, Akeisha “Keikei” (Richard) Taijeron, Shana (Tony) Kruichak, and Cecile (Irvin) Owens; sons, Mark Sr. and Alfred “J.R.” Owens III; sisters, Valerie McPherson and Ramona “Alfreda” Lindsey; brother, Dennis Owens; grandchildren, Mark, Andrew, Alyssa, Isaiah, Mackenzie, Skye, Hailey, Xavier, Elijah, London, Arya; and longtime friends, Alejandro “Ray” (Candel) Canaday. Visitation will be Monday, July 25th from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at Twin Chapels Mortuary, Vallejo. A memorial graveside service with full military honors will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Sacramento Valley VA National Cemetery, 5810 Midway Rd., Dixon.
