EDNA MAE VALVA January 12, 1921 – February 12, 2012 Edna Mae Valva, passed away peacefully at her home in Vallejo, one month af-ter her 91st birthday. Edna was born to Edward and Mary Lincoln in Alturus, California on January 12, 1921. She was a long time resident of Vallejo and worked at Mare Island Naval Shipyard for 15 years, retiring in 1980. Edna, or “Grams” as she was affectionately referred to by family, lived a long full life. Her family brought her much pride and joy, and she thoroughly enjoyed her years as a homemaker. Other passions included sewing, she was known as a seamstress extraordinaire and traveling with her husband in their travel trailer. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Warren and Edward Lincoln. Survivors include her husband of 38 years, William J. Valva; daughter, Susan (Wayne) Melquist; son, Vincent Elmgren; five grandchildren, Lisa Wood, Amy Loar, Melanie Bettinelli, Daniel Elmgren and Eric Elmgren; and 9 great grand-children, Megan, Alyssa, Jack, Ethan, Mia, Sam, Gavin, Ella and Alyssa. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, February 17th at Twin Chapels Mortuary, 1100 Tennessee St., Vallejo, with Pastor Al Marks officiating. Burial will be private at St. Helena Cemetery. Memorial contributions are preferred to Sutter Hospice or the charity of the donor’s choice.
