Lee Moreno
February 22, 1936 - December 2, 2020
Lee Moreno passed away at home on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 due to natural causes. “Malee”, as she was affectionately known by her grandchildren, was born in New Orleans, LA, and grew up in Baton Rouge. Lee made her way to Vallejo in 1955 where she was a ballroom dance instructor for Arthur Murray Dance Studio where she met her husband, Chuck Moreno. Later, Lee was a salesperson for Sears then went on to own her own interior design company “Kitchens & Baths by Lee”. Lee relocated to Las Vegas in 1979. Lee lived her life working hard and entertaining many. She was known for her attention to detail, precision and making things aesthetically pleasing. Lee was unapologetically herself and lived life on her terms. She spoke her mind, and never took an uncalculated risk to offend others, or be misunderstood. She was loved and admired by many and was a respected role model. As a mother, she taught her children to never give up and always remember, “no” in business, was a definite “maybe.” Lee was a loyal and dedicated friend who possessed the incredible ability to make everyone around her feel special. She could dazzle a crowd with her ballroom dancing and beautiful smile and was often heard humming her favorite songs. Lee was preceded in death by her oldest son, Bennie. Survivors include her husband, Chuck; sons Mike (Sally), and Perry; brother, Don Ramos; grandchildren, Sheila Grissom, Dr. Jessica Moreno (Juan Rubio), Christopher, Charlie, Brianna, 7 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. The family would like to extend special thank you to her dedicated caregiver, Denise Jones of Las Vegas, NV. Due to COVID 19 restrictions, services will be private. Local arrangements entrusted to the direction and care of Twin Chapels Mortuary, Vallejo (707) 552-6696. www.TwinChapelsMortuary.com
