LUCILLE JUNE GAMBA June 9, 1927 – February 27, 2017 Lucille Gamba, 89, passed away peacefully Monday in Napa following a brief illness. Lucille lived in Vallejo from the late 1940’s until 2012. She then moved to Napa but always considered Vallejo her home. When her children where in school, she was active in the PTA of McKinley School and Highland Elementary School. She also helped with decorations and fundraising for Vallejo Assembly # 3, I.O.R.G. during the 1960’s. Lucille enjoyed sewing, baking, knitting slippers for family and friends and watching her children and grandchildren play sports. She went to as many basketball, baseball, soccer and softball games as she could to root her children and grandchildren on. Lucille was an active member of the Church of the Ascension serving on the Vestry as well as working on their “Strawberry Festival” and “Shrove Tuesday” activities. She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, John Gamba, son, John M. Gamba, sisters, Wilma Graham and Rose Marie Walker. Survivors include her son, Mark Gamba of Vallejo, daughters, Sandra Driskell of Fort Worth, TX and Debora Clark of Lodi, grandchildren, Joseph and Jack Gamba, Nicole Burrows, Matthew (Nikki) Clark, James and Robert (Shannon) Driskell, great-grandchildren, Renee, Sam and Carly Isom, Dominic and Vanessa Burrows, Hayden and Peighton Driskell, Silas Bell, Daniel and Colton Clark; and her sister, Dorothy Grijalva. At her request no services will be held. Inurnment is private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are preferred to the Shriners Hospital for Children and to St. Patrick-St. Vincent High School.
