Omar James Cantrall Dec. 5, 1924—July 9, 2017 Omar (Jim) J. Cantrall, a long-time resident of Vallejo, passed away peacefully at the age of 92, while surrounded by family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ernestine J. Cantrall (Lemos), parents, Forrest L. Cantrall Sr. and Mary Avrena Cantrall (Yates), brother, Forrest L. Cantrall Jr, and sister, Jesciscia Williams. Jim’s family moved from Alturas to Benicia in his teen years. He met and married his best friend, Ernestine. They were married 64 yrs. and had 3 daughters, Patricia Lee (Pat), Ava Williams (Michael), and Bonnie Rivera (Rey). He left behind 11 grandchildren; Mark Harper, Richard Harper, Honore Mendoza, Michelle Morning, Richard Williams, Shawn Williams (Charlotte), Jennifer Williams, Theresa Rivera, Rodney Rivera (Robin), Christina Economus (Travis), and Jim Rivera (Alyssa). He has many great and great-great grandchildren. Jim joined the Air Force at the age of 17, and bravely served his country during World War II, in Okinawa, Japan. He was an airplane mechanic during the war and always liked planes. He later became a Civil Servant as an electronic technician at Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield, Mare Island in Vallejo, and Presidio in S.F. Jim was one of a kind; a great son, husband, father, and grandfather who took care of his family. He always had a smile on his face and loved everyone. He was thankful for everything and let people know it. He never had a bad word to say about anyone. He missed Ernestine, and let us all know he was ready to be with her. He left this world with no regrets. He will be missed greatly. Viewing will be held 4-8 PM Thursday and funeral services will be held 11 AM Friday July 14, at Twin Chapels Mortuary, 1100 Tennessee St., Vallejo. Burial will follow at All Souls Catholic Cemetery, 550 Glen Cove Rd, Vallejo.
