RAYMOND C. FISCHER March 25, 1915 – April 26, 2011 Longtime Vallejo resident, Raymond C. “Ray” Fischer, 96, passed away peacefully Tuesday. Born in Chicago on March 25, 1915 to immigrant parents, Ray grew up during the great depression. He served in the US Navy during WWII. He married Evelyn Senese in 1947. In 1953 the family left Chicago to start a new life in California. Ray worked as a sheet metal worker in San Diego and Mare Island Naval Shipyard. He was a life master contract bridge player and enjoyed playing golf. He was preceded in death by his wife Evelyn in 1979. Survivors include his beloved companion of 27 years, Barbara DeMarco; his children, Barbara (Bill) Tricarico, Arlene (Mike) Madden, Joe (Kathy), Cheryl (Larry) Prophet, and Debbie (Jim) Major; 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, April 30th in the Mausoleum Chapel at All Souls Catholic Cemetery, 550 Glen Cove Rd., Vallejo. Burial will follow.
