Robert Henry Nessel Sr. Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Robert H. “Bob” Nessel Sr., 83, passed away Sunday at Kaiser Hospital in Vallejo. Bob was born in Texas on October 23, 1938, to Henry William and Dorothy Ann (Guitersloh) Nessel. He has lived in Vallejo the past 65 years. He served in the U.S. Air Force and made a career in the tire business working for Firestone for 6 years and was the owner and operator of Tucker Tires for 38 years before retiring in 2005. Bob was a highly active member of our community including St. Basil’s Church, past president of the St. Patrick’s High School Men’s Club, past president of the Reveille Lions Club 1981 and 1992, and a former member of the Vallejo Elk Club. He enjoyed golfing, Texas Longhorns football, travelling, camping, and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Linda Copeland; and his brothers, Norvin and Walter. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Hilda; sons, Robert “Bob” Jr., Richard (Regina), and Jeff; sister, Helen Henson; sister-in-law, Rhina (Bert) Munoz; and grandchildren, Cameron, Luke, and Troy. Memorial Mass will be held 11 AM on Thursday, June 2 at St. Basil the Great Catholic Church, Tuolumne and Nebraska Sts., Vallejo. Inurnment will be private at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, Dixon.
