Sidney Rita Spear Dec. 29, 1946 - Oct. 26, 2016 Sidney Rita Spear, 69, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 26, in Vallejo. Sidney fought valiantly against breast cancer for the last four years and never let her diagnosis dampen her incredible love for life. Sidney was born in Richmond, California, but spent many years living in Vallejo. Sidney lived in 13 different residences in Vallejo in her lifetime, and also spent time living in Branford, Conn., and South San Francisco, Ca. She worked for the Vallejo housing authority before retiring to relax and travel. Sidney never met a stranger in her life. She had an ability to immediately get to know someone new and make them comfortable. Sidney loved to travel (including four trips to Australia), play slot machines at local casinos with her friend Michele, go to movies with her friend Cathy, and decorate her house for any and all holidays. Sidney's biggest passion with her husband Chuck, before he passed away and since then, was collecting Barbie dolls. She was a member of numerous Barbie doll collector clubs and loved to show her collection to all who visited her. Since her latest cancer diagnosis, Sidney loved gardening and watching hummingbirds visit her two feeders. Sidney was preceded in death by her husband of twenty-five years, Charles "Chuck" Spear; her parents Louis and Doris Baldino, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Sidney is survived by her sons Daniel Parks and Gregory Parks; daughter-in-law Teresa Teani; and loved-like-daughters Angela Fox-Kuehl, Tracy Richards-Jones, and Kristi Wilson. The names of all of Sidney's friends would require a special edition of the newspaper. A celebration of life ceremony will take place at 4pm this Saturday, November 5 at the North Hills Baptist Church, 200 Admiral Callaghan Lane in Vallejo.
