JOHN EDWARD ‘JACK’ KELLY Aug. 27, 1933 - June 13, 2021 John Edward 'Jack' Kelly, 87 passed away unexpectedly on Sunday night. Jack was born to Paul Cyrus and Nellie Shellito Kelly on Aug. 27, 1933, in Hartstown, Pennsylvania. He grew up in Pennsylvania and joined the US Navy in April of 1952. He was a proud American and Patriot who loved his country. Once he arrived from Pennsylvania to California for training, he would often say he could not believe his eyes when he came to San Diego and see such beautiful sandy beaches, palm trees, amazing weather, and the most beautiful tan women. While serving his country and during his military career, Jack met his first wife, Nubia and had three children, Mike, Michele and Jamie. In 1971 he retired from the Navy and came to Solano County with his Real Estate Broker’s license in hand and much ambition in his eyes. He settled in Vacaville, met his 2nd wife, Diane and together they built their happy and successful life and Real Estate Business. He enjoyed hunting, skiing, golfing and at one time, flying. He was a member of Green Valley Country Club for 27 years, an active and supporting member of St. Dominic’s Church in Benicia and was a strong supporter of numerous charities that were important to him. Jack had a wonderful life, family that loved and cherished him, friends he adored and believed were unique and special. Green Valley was his 'special place'. He is resting now in his Heavenly Home with all the ones he loved the most. Survivors include his daughter, Michele (John 'Jack') Mackall; sons, Michael 'Mike' (Vickie) and James Kelly; dear friend and ex-wife, Nubia Walker; sister, Ruby Kelly; grandchildren, Stephanie Day, Christine Kelly, Renee Kelly, Rochelle Kelly, James Kelly, Cassandra Kelly, Sean Daly and John 'Eddie' Kelly; great-grandchildren, Holden Day and Socorro 'Rory' Day; nephew, Greg Burgin; and grand-niece, Madison Burgin; and much more family throughout the country. He was preceded in death by his wife, Diane; brother, Paul L. Kelly; sisters, Gladys Fink and Ruth Harroun; grandchildren, Danielle Kelly and Michael Daly; and his parents. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. with a Vigil Service at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at Passalacqua Funeral Chapel, 901 West 2nd St., Benicia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, June 24, 2021, at St. Dominic’s Church, 415 East I St., Benicia. Entombment will be private at San Joaquin Catholic Cemetery, Stockton.
