Michael A. Prebula

Michael A. Prebula May 31, 1947 - Dec 9, 2020 Michael Prebula left this earth after a valiant fight with cancer. Mike was born in Hazleton, PA to Margaret Hayes and Edward Prebula. He returned to his mother’s birthplace of King’s Lynn, England aboard the Queen Mary at 6 years old to visit his family in England. The most important thing to Mike was family. Mike is survived by his wife, Beverly, his three children, Melanie (Bret) Sisco, Robyn Tuggle, Joe (Shelly) Prebula and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mike served in the U.S. Air Force, followed by 30+ years as a letter carrier with the U.S. Postal Service, mostly in Vallejo. After he retired, he continued to “work” in the golf industry where he continued to make friends and expand his love of the game. Mike loved, and was usually successful at, making people laugh. He was fiercely competitive, especially if there was a bet on the line. He taught his children to be competitive and do their best, whether it be it work or fun. He always had great, rousing games of Liar’s Dice with family and friends...sometimes 4 people but up to 15. Total chaos but always fun! Mike and Beverly had a fun filled 40 years of marriage. They always joked that he got all his aggressions out on others so he could come home and treat Bev like “the princess that she thinks she is.” They worked hard to enjoy their skiing and camping vacations in the early years and huge family camping vacations in the kids’ teenage years. After Beverly retired, they were able to fulfill their life long dream of returning to England. In the past 10 years, they have returned to England to reunite with long lost family and friends several times. They made new friends and have been able to host many of their English family and friends at their home in Vallejo. Although our hearts are hurting, we take great comfort in all the laughter we have shared and the great memories we have to heal the sadness. Due to current restrictions, we will have a small family service at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon when available. We will have a celebration of Mike’s life when we can safely gather again. In lieu of flowers, Mike requested donations be made to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
