Sandra Kaye (Barton) Millard

Sandra Kaye Millard passed away peacefully on May 26, 2026, at the age of 78. Sandra was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gerald Millard whom she married on 4/7/1991. She is survived by her daughter, Danelle Kent; stepchildren Allison Smith, Cynthia (Butch) Crane, Edward (Brigid) Millard, and Amanda Millard; Her sister Gayle Surges, whom she shared an extremely close bond with. She also had a very loving relationship with her daughter Danelle’s older brother Kevin Alexander. She was a proud grandmother to Vince Walker (Danika), Sabrina Kent, Miranda Martinez, Elizabeth Prater (Steve), Anthony Crane (Paige), Nicholas Crane (Jessica). She was also blessed with many beloved great-grandchildren, including Zoey, Zack, Jasmine, Christian, Sophia, Belle, Louis, Elijah, Calvin, and Jedi. Sandra dedicated more than 30 years of service to Family Doctor Medical Group where she was receptionist to Dr Frank and Dr Kassis and then to Sutter Solano Medical Center in Vallejo where she worked primarily in the admitting department. In her spare time she volunteered for many years as the secretary to Wayside Methodist Church where she held her faith. Throughout her career and life she was known for her compassion, dedication, and the genuine care she showed to patients, coworkers, and friends. She had a special Kindness, warmth and beautiful smile that could light up the room which made everyone she encountered feel just a bit more special. Outside of work, Sandra found great joy in RV camping with their 5th wheel trailer. She and Jerry belonged to an RV group with many trips making treasured memories with family and friends with the highlight being yearly vacations to Bass Lake with her family and her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Those memories will be remembered fondly, especially the bear sitings to spice up the trips a bit and keep the grandchildren on their toes. Sandra also loved going to the movies with her friends but her best days were just being home with her husband Jerry of more than 33 years and her beloved dog, Windy. Jerry was an amazing husband, best friend and cared for her lovingly and deeply until the day he passed away which completely left her lost and heartbroken. She then moved in with her daughter Danelle and lived with her in Discovery Bay so she could be cared for during the last year and a half. Memorial services to celebrate her life will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Wayside Methodist Church, 2309 Columbus Pkwy, Vallejo CA 94591. Cremation burial will be held privately with family at a later date. The family invites all who knew and loved Sandra to join them in celebrating her life and sharing memories of the special impact she made on those around her. Forever loved, forever missed, and forever remembered.
